On August 4th,“2022 New Discovery of the City by International Students in Suzhou”was officially launched, aiming to help international students in the city to better understand the local development through various activities such as visiting exhibitions, country tours and discussions.
Co-hosted by Foreign Affairs Office of Suzhou Municipal People's Government, Wuzhong District People's Government of Suzhou Municipality and International Office of Soochow University, the event attracted more than 20 students from Malaysia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pakistan, Laos, Yemen, Indonesia, South Korea, Iran, Bangladesh, Nigeria and Kyrgyzstan.
Besides being presented with books on the reform and development, history and culture of Suzhou, the students also took site visits to Suzhou Artisan Garden, Wuzhong Exhibition Center, Dreame Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., and Wangshan Village, where they had nice conversations with the locals.
"After this event, I believe I can tell Suzhou's stories better and make China's voice heard, and become the bridge that connects China and my homeland," said Maradonna Talu Leyn, an Indonesian student from Soochow University.
“New Discovery of the City by International Students in Suzhou” has been successfully held for the second consecutive year, and is well received by the international students. The activities not only help them to fully experience the local life style, but also encourage them to share with more people around them for the better understanding of Suzhou and China.
