On October 22, the 4th Edition of Suzhou Business Forum was held in Suzhou New District. Alessandra Palumbo, Commercial Consul of the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, Lorenzo Riccardi, Board Member and CFO of China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from departments of Suzhou Municipal Government and enterprises attended this event.
The Business Forum is organized by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, supported by Suzhou Foreign Affairs Office, and helped by many other departments, including Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Municipal Federation of Overseas Chinese, CCPIT Suzhou Committee, Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, Municipal Youth Chamber of Commerce. It has been successfully held for four years in a row in Suzhou, providing a platform for Chinese and Italian enterprises to communicate with each other and establish business relations. This year, this B2B matchmaking event attracted more than ten Italian companies and near thirty local companies to participate in, during which they exchanged up-to-date industrial information and ideas on how to promote bilateral business.
In recent years, the investment and trade cooperation between Suzhou and Italy has witnessed rapid growth, with the number of Italian enterprises operating in the city increasing to more than 180 by 2021, nearly four times as many as that in 2008. Suzhou has also become the largest overseas investment destination of Italy with a total amount of up to $600 million actual utilized Italian capital. During the event, Alessandra Palumbo, Lorenzo Riccardi and other Italian representatives all spoke highly of Suzhou's business services and polices.
