General information: legend goes that Luzhi Town is blessed and protected by a unicorn called Luduan. The mythical creature, which is the same kind with kylin, is said to have two extraordinary powers characterized by rapid speed and quick access to information. It travels as far as eighteen thousand kilometers in a day and understands four different dialects. For thousand years, the mythical creature has been dedicated to the guard and protection of Luzhi. The Arhat Statues in the Baoshen Temple at Luzhi are national treasures created by the Tang Dynasty sculptor master Yang Huizhi. The recluse poet Lu Guimeng in the late Tang Dynasty retired in this town. Moreover, the background the famous story Overreaped Grains by Ye Shengtao is set in this town. Luzhi Town is famous for its tasty Luzhi Radish and Puli Trotters as well as the beautiful water town costumes.
