(1) The verification procedure for Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202 Form) is as follows: →The host institute should present the application materials and JW202 Form to Suzhou Bureau of Education for inspection and verification.→Suzhou Bureau of Education submits the above-mentioned materials after its verification.→Suzhou Bureau of Public Security verifies the materials.→Jiangsu Provincial Department of Public Security verifies the materials.→Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education verifies the materials and offer an approval.→Suzhou Bureau of Education affixes a seal on the materials and mail them to Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.→Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education affixes and returns the materials.→The overseas student applies for an overseas student visa at the local Chinese embassies or consulates.→The overseas student arrives in China.
The host institute visits the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of the Suzhou Bureau of Education to take the JW202 Form.→The requested information at the website of the host institute should be provided in designated forms and printed out.
1. The letter of admission of the host institute
2. A letter of entrust guardianship, a corresponding letter of notarization and the approval of the local Chinese embassy or consulate (for overseas students under 18)
When the application procedure is carried out outside China, the guardianship letter should be supported by a letter of notarization and an approval issued by the overseas student’s country of nationality, and the approval issued by the local Chinese embassy or consulate. If the application is performed within China, the guardianship letter can be notarized either by Chinese notarial entities or by the embassy or consulate of the student’s country of nationality.
3. The overseas student’s and his / her guarantor’s letters of undertaking, and the corresponding letters of notarization (for overseas students aged 18 and over)
4. Photocopies of the overseas student’s valid passport
5. The valid legal identity documents, residence permit and employment verification letter of the overseas student’s guardian or guarantor
6. The verification of social security payment or tax bill within 6 months of the overseas student’s guardian or guarantor
(3) The host institute should be responsible for the procedures after the oversea student’s entry into China.
The overseas student enters China→Within 24 hours after their arrival, the overseas student shall register with the local public security organ to report their accommodation or residence.→The overseas student should visit the outpatient department at the Suzhou branch of Jiangsu International Travel Healthcare Centre (Overseas students under 18 are exempted from the medical examination).→The overseas student should apply for a residence permit at the window of Suzhou Bureau of Public Security at Suzhou Government Affairs Service Center (within 30 days after the student’s entry).
Responsible departments: the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of the Suzhou Bureau of Education serving primary schools, high schools, secondary vocational schools and other educational entities at the same level; the departments concerned at host colleges or universities serving overseas college or university-level students
