The 4th Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo will be held in Suzhou from Sept. 22 to 25.
This year’s expo will feature 13 activities falling into 5 categories. On the evening of Sept. 22, the opening ceremony will be staged at the Tiger Hill scenic area along with a Grand Canal-themed concert and a light show. Afterwards, the guests attending the opening ceremony will take a night cruise on the Shantang River to appreciate the charming autumn scenery of the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal.
During the expo, 6 themed exhibitions will be held at the Suzhou International Expo Center from Sept. 23 to 25, showcasing Grand Canal-themed tourism products, intangible cultural heritages, food cultures, etc.
Up to now, a total of 32 cities and more than 600 cultural tourism enterprises and institutions in 8 provinces (municipalities) along the Grand Canal have been invited to participate in the expo. Shanghai has also received the invitation and so have some cities in the provinces provided “pairing assistance” by Jiangsu Province. And a total of 105 cultural tourism institutions and enterprises in China from 24 countries have confirmed their participation in the expo.
